Dye sublimation printing is a method of applying an image to polyester fabrics. Sublimation ink is unique in it’s printing process. Your design is printed onto a special sheet of release paper using sublimation ink which is then heat pressed onto the garment.
At a very high temperature and pressure the ink forms a gas which then permanently dyes the polyester content of the fabric. The high temperature – from a heat transfer press – opens the pores of the polymer and allows the gas to enter. When the temperature drops, the pores close and the gas reverts to a solid state. The print then becomes part of the polymer. Most modern cycle jerseys and other coloured team shirts are printed in this way.
Hard items including ceramics and metals require a special coating to accept the sublimation inks. However, you do not need any coating on 100% polyester items such as mouse mats and 100% polyester fabric such as our sports apparel – and fabric signage systems such as outdoor portable signs and banners.
Our high quality dye sublimation ink has excellent colour brightness and produces brilliantly crisp transfers.
If you are looking for a permanent multi coloured print onto sports apparel such as cycling jerseys, teamwear, or portable signs and banners etc then sublimation printing is the solution for you.
